Here We Go Again

This Monday evening was the last of a 4-days week-end which we thoroughly enjoyed. The good news is, the week-end won’t stop! (for the kids). The real news is, Hà Nội is closing schools like last year, and nobody knows when they will reopen. Guess I’m happy I bought a computer for my son. That will help keep him studying for some time. Mask is also mandatory outside in the streets. Not everybody puts it on though (we live in a rather remote and less populated area) but when caught the fine is 2’000’000 VND, which is roughly 80.- CHF. For the sake of comparison, 2’000’000 VND represents 45% of the minimum wage in Việt Nam.

I have to dig again all the useful websites to keep a child both happy and busy. Bless that rooftop pool.

    1. well it’s not really the focus of my attention to be honest. We have to live with it though, as everybody. It looks like they got positive tests that would come from the same area. I saw also this article just now: https://e.vnexpress.net/news/news/indian-expert-in-hanoi-tests-coronavirus-positive-after-two-week-quarantine-4272240.html
As a result, they decided to extend the quarantine of people who are currently in the middle of their quarantine. We feel very lucky to have already finished ours almost one month ago.
The surprising difference with a few European countries is that here they close outdoor restaurants in Hà Nội but eating inside is allowed. I’ve seen countries do exactly the opposite: only take-away and terrasses, no indoor dining.
